(Thread closed) Day 6: What are some obstacles that are preventing you from accomplishing your goals? What will you do to overcome them?
Some of the obstacles that prevent me from accomplishing my goal of losing weight is the weather since it rains and is cold here a lot. What I decided to do to overcome this obstacle is to learn a new level of square dance and walk in stores up and down the aisles and walking at the mall where it is warmer instead.
What are some obstacles that are preventing you from accomplishing your goals? What will you do to overcome them?
Illnesses. I can't just overcome them. They are unpredictable, so it's not something that I can just plan around to overcome the barriers when I don't know exactly what they will be on a given day. I try to do what I can towards goals when I'm safely able to (or at least think it's safe). I also do what I can to lessen the symptoms (a long term goal is just to work on having my health improve, and while there have been improvements I have no way of knowing if that will continue to be possible or if something will happen that will cause my health to decrease permanently). Some of my goals may not ever be attained because of this. I have given up on other goals because of it.
@AffyAvo
i hear you. Its the same for me. Im trying to find meaning and to redefine my lifes goals given that illness is impacting everything right now. Take good care of yourself. Remember there are endless possibilities in life and we never really know for sure how things may turn out.
I think that I don't prioritize my goals. I let everything else get in the way under the disguise of "I'm so busy at work", "My husband needs my help doing ...", "My family needs me to ...."
This is one of my goals for the year -- learning how to say no to others a littel more, and yes to me a little more.
I really don't have many obstacles in my path other than myself. I am my own obstacle, much of the time. Best I can come up with is trying to do better, but I am always trying to do better and rarely succeeding.
@Offmytrack
Not sure what the obstacles are but what about a list of things that need to be completed? That way you can mark things off?
