Weekly challenge - National Battery Day (Safety Challenge) - February 18-24 - 2019
Get a charge out of National Battery Day! Observed each year on February 18th, this is a day to appreciate the convenience that batteries provide to our everyday lives. Today we would be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't derive a benefit from a battery. We need to ensure that we replace our battery in our smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, flashlights, vehicles, campers, etc. Yes, even vehicle batteries don't last for ever and that vehicle may not start some morning or when you are out and about somewhere. Please ensure that you recycle your old batteries and most cities have a recycle center that you can dispose of old batteries.

I am a terrible cook, and occasionally burn something in the microwave. As a result of cooking adventures, my smoke detectors go off regularly. I installed two other smoke detectors in my apartment because my landlord is not concerned about safety.
The building I live in requires batteries to be replaced in detectors and a maintenance person goes to each unit to do it since people can

Totally agree with you. My luck it is always when my husband is out of town so now we replace them when we do time changes 2 times a year in the US and then still sometimes between. One night it was 10:30pm and thankfully the guy next store was home and up still at my old house since I couldn't reach it since the ceiling was really tall.

Those are importants things to look after. We regularly check devices, this is particularly important when hurricane seasons starts here on the island. When we use batteries, they would be of the rechargeable type.
