I tend to be more attentive to people as I grow older and find that I am not as dismissive of people as I was when I was younger - so that I can actually provide better support snd help to those that are in need and dire straights

I think when we get older we often gathered more experiences, know more how it feels in certain situation. Nice that you make good use of your experiences to be there for others to help.
What is one or more things you think have changed the world for the better since you were young?
Ending the war in Viet Nam.

The schools noticing bullying &actually maybe doing something about it

It was time! Too much time has passed already, too many people have suffered from stigma and injustice.
Email has certainly changed the world for the better, in my experience. When my husband was away with the military, the only option to communicate was snail mail. You didn't know for weeks or months what was going on (as even mailing a ltter was not always an option. Having a son that served in Iraq and Afghanistan, being able to get or send an email was such a blessing. Comes in handy for lots more ... but that is when I appreciated it to the fullest.

Email made communication so much easier for sure! It must have been terrible for you waiting and waiting to get the news that he is okay, wish you had email in those days. It must have been a big relief being able to contact your son by email lateron.
What is one or more things you think have changed the world for the better since you were young?
We are getting more equal and more accepted. We still have a long way to go but it's better!

More people are taking sexual abuse of boys seriously. Sorry to go on about this, but when I was a boy, I couldn't talk about it because I knew it would only cause more problems at the time. Now I can talk about it.

I can only imagine the "horror" you and others have been through. I am so glad that things changed, that you can breathe and talk about it. No one should ever be invalidated for sexual abuse. Hugs.
