Happy wednesday everyone. This is my first daily check in sinc joining the community recently.

I have been at my workplace since 2008, plan to be here another, ahem, 3 to 6 years. I had planned to retire at 70, because that is when SS gives you the most money; but now, with my significant other, I find I want to just spend a lot more time with her, the only way to do that would be to retire. My union says I will be ready to retire at 67, so I may well do that.

Congrats on the long term of being with one compoany that long. My brother is 56 and has been with intel since college. kuddo's for sticking in there.
i recently got a letter from Social Security saying that i was no longer considered "Disabled", but am now "Retired"... i had to laugh and laugh,, Retired from a Disability~~ IF ONLY! 
well, today has already started out as a roller coaster ride,,, but i refuse to be 'thrilled' 
yesterday a cousin who i had not seen for years, gave me a ride to get some paperwork done, and then took me to the top of the 'hill', (a mountain). it was simply stunning, astonishing, the air was so clear that we could see for miles, and i do so love the rocks, and the aspens were the most yellow of yellows,,, it was almost an 'alternative' experience~!
I was considering a job change, but i have three years left with my current employeer before i can draw full retirement benefits. So, i passed up the change. Hoping i didn't make the wrong decision.
