I joined in December of 2017, to help those who have nowhere  to turn. I am here for new listeners also to mentor because beginning a role like a Listener can be scary and want to give back to them. to help guide them and supply the appropriate tolls ( forms, links ) to help them succeed in their role. I help also with any concerns a new listener may have.

I have real fun making forum posts for topics that help in my groups Mindfulness and 50+. I think of topics and write a forum post either to educare us more or just to update on a topic of choice. I enjoy writing the post and hearing feedback from others on how a person feels about the topics .

My experience on 7 cups makes me love the roles I have and new roles I may apply for. I have grown so much with 7 cups and use certain chat strategies in my friendships offline.

Encouraging movements that feel good: As you grow older, staying active mentally and physically is a good way to keep our health moving. Being mobile helps us reduce stress, sleep better at night, and boost our moods.  Help finding them a sense of purpose: Hope grows when you're feeling loved and wanted in other people's lives. Retirement, health issues, and losses of loved ones can make an older person feel not wanted in life. We need to make elders feel their presence is much needed in life and encourage them to stay fit so they can live life fully. Connect through communities, clubs, and social events: Isolation can drain someone mentally, making them not feel like they matter or making them feel like they will be left out of life. When they join clubs and workshops, they're building new friendships while learning new hobbies. Talking to someone who can help: The best support system can come from family and friends. We can include them in our daily activities and talk with them about mental well-being. We can give support to them by listening and helping them feel accepted.  How can we keep hope in our lives as we age? ...See more Mindfulness Daily Check-In August 7th to August 9th 2026 Being kind to yourself using mindfulness means to notice the thoughts your having without judging yourself. When you become stressed, take a moment to breathe in and out slowly, accept the feelings you are having, and treat yourself kindly like you would a friend. Self-Compassion techniques help you to tame those inner thoughts without judging yourself so you may change your life to a better state. Self-critical is when you put unfair pressure or higher expectations on yourself and find out you did not meet those expectations. Self-criticism happens when we respond to an emotion like shame and increases our self-control making it hard to go on with our lives. We begin to judge the things and our actions that we do and becomne rude to ourselves. Self-compassion helps you see the thoughts or feelings you are having and work on making themto feel good about yourself. Self-criticism tricks your brain into thinking everything is fine. Criticism is when we are hard on ourselves for not meeting a dead-line at work, miss out on a special event in our life, and begin to self doubt ourselves. Noticing your thoughts are when you see the thoughts but do not say anything. look at how you talk to yourself are you kind or harsh to yourself. Once you see the feeling name it such as "this is stress". "this is anger". using gentle actions like placing your hand on your heart can calm you down. Another way is to do breathing exercises to bring your racing breaths back to normal.  Another way to help yourself is accepting that things do not go as we may of planned it to go, remember everyone makes mistakes that is part of being human. You can also use positive affirmations to calm yourself down " I did really well in that presentation".  How can we offer more self-compassion to yourself when things go wrong? The fear of Judgement in Seniors

...See more As we grow older, the fear of judgment comes from hoping we fit into a society of becoming older, not being seen in our society, and the physical and mental decline in our health. While we were growing up, our adolescent and adult lives were filled with fear of being accepted for who we became, doing a good job at our workplaces, and being accepted in our age groups. It is similar to this now in our senior years.  How to overcome anxiety as we age: Try small experiments: try doing something positive without thinking a negative thought of "I can't do this" or "Do I sound too old?" Shift from outcomes to value: Shift your fear into a positive. Look for positive values you're wanting in your senior years: being healthy physically and mentally, enjoying time spent with grandchildren, and spending time with people our age. Tame the Inner Critic: Turn off the negativity and tell yourself you can do anything you set your mind to, although it might take longer than when we were younger to do. Think of positive affirmations and silently say them to yourself when doing a chore or project. Silence the inner critic: We need to learn to silence our inner critic into giving us positive things, not negative. We can do anything we set our mind and heart into doing; we just need to tell ourselves that. How can we not judge ourselves for growing older? How can you help yourself go through things as you grow older to not worry so much? ...See more Mindfulness Daily Check-In August 3rd to August 5th 2026 We all are here living for a purpose, but do we really know why? I am here to give a life not only to myself, but also to others who I come across in life, a purpose of empathy, support, and love.  The true purpose in life is to live, learn, and give back to others we come across. We each possess a unique gift, each gift different and presented in different ways to other people. Most do not know what we were put here on earth to do; others find their purposes in different ways.  The concept of "life's purpose" is that we were born with higher purposes, and we need to find out what we possess. Some people were born to become doctors, lawyers, police officers, or firemen or just work in a job we went to college for. We all mean something to everyone; we are the best parents, friends, siblings, and children to our parents and parents to our children. We are just out to live our lives to the best of what they can be, nothing more. Core ways to build a purpose in your life: Helping others: We are here to help others with whatever it is they need to be helped with. An elderly parent needing help around their home because they cannot do it themselves, helping our children understand their homework, working on a project at work with co-workers—bottom line, we are here to help not only ourselves but also others. Learn and Grow: We learn from an early age what we want to do in life and go out and pursue that through college education and working. We learn something new every day. Love deeply: we were born to love who we are and others for what they are also. We learned how to love a pet, siblings, and parents, all to have love given back to us. What are some ways you feel you're meant to be here? How can we fix what's wrong in our world? ...See more Mindfulness daily check-in july 31st to August 2nd 2026 Reinventing yourself through mindfulness means bringing yourself back to the present state of mind and letting go of past experiences. old habits, breaking the auto-pilot your life is on, and choosing newer ways to grow. One way to reinvent yourself with mindfulness is to make it a daily routine in your everyday workout using mindfulness. Mindfulness is an approach that centers on using breathing techniques and mental focus in paying better attention to what is happening at that moment you're in.  The following are ways to practice mindfulness: Meditation: Every morning or night sit down in a comfortable position and just let your mind go of things that are happening around you at that moment.  Mindful activities: You can use walking in the park or on trails as an activity to look and feel and sense what is happening around you. Enjoy the outdoors as an exploration of getting in a daily walk while also noticing Mother Nature and what is happening in the walks. Coping mechanisms: Conscious tools. thoughts, and actions we use to handle those hard times. We try to make conscious thoughts and positive affirmations upon ourselves to be better. Practice makes perfect: Sit down 1 or 2 times a day to meditate to rewire your mind and body back to a present state of form. Even if you start with 5 minutes in the morning before tackling the day ahead or meditating before bed, so you may sleep peacefully. How can mindfulness make you feel throughout the day? ...See more As we grow older, we need to maintain a healthy mental and physical well-being for ourselves. Anxiety and depression happen to everyone at any age; with the proper medical help of a therapist or psychologist, we can provide ourselves with mental well-being. Mental challenges are a part of life for any age. It is important to continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle for yourself regardless of how old you are.  We may become depressed as we grow older because aging does not come with instruction; we are just to continue to live the life we have been. Seniors can get depressed because as they are aging, they do not live close to their family members, and their friends begin to die, leaving them feeling alone. Depression in seniors can sometimes be hard to notice. They begin to not talk a lot as they used to about their feelings, thinking no one may not care about them because they're busy living their own life. The signs and symptoms can be different for everyone depending on their upbringing, lifestyle, and fear of talking about what is really bothering them. People from different cultures present themselves differently, and that can be hard for those wanting to help in actually getting the senior to open up and talk. Here are some constant symptoms of depression for seniors: persistently sad or empty inside feeling of hopelessness and guilt. restless or having trouble sitting for a long period of time decrease fatigue or energy to do things, even simple chores How can we help our seniors more into talkin more about their feelings? ...See more Finding our inner peace as we grow comes down to practicing radial acceptance, releasing past trauma and regrets, and embracing solitude. Making peace within yourself as you age means shifting your focus from external validation to internal fulfillment. The process involves accepting you're not getting any younger, building physical resilience, and thinking more about embracing your journey as you live longer. As we grow older, we try to keep a steady physical, mental, and emotional well-being.  One practice that has had seniors staying healthier is meditation and mindfulness. Seniors are still working out by walking and swimming, and some even jog daily.  Seniors want to be independent and still live life to their fullest, without having to depend on others to take care of them. Meditation helps seniors keep their mental and physical functions going. Meditation is a powerful tool for any age limit. It helps you rewire your brain and your physical body to remain healthy.
