@BeyondTheInvisible the only chestnuts I saw were called horse chestnuts which are toxic. https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/whats_the_difference_between_horse_chestnuts_and_sweet_chestnuts

Roasted chestnuts were a little like potato the one time I had them.

@BeyondTheInvisible yes but be careful you have sweet chestnuts (edible) and not horse chestnuts (toxic) https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/whats_the_difference_between_horse_chestnuts_and_sweet_chestnuts

Thank you for warning us, there is an opportunity to learn new things every time. In nature it is extremely useful to have your botanical knowledge straight and broad or else...😉😊

I have never had chestnuts before but they sound interesting.

We don't have much of any 'woodsy' areas here wher I live.

Don't worry about it, maybe you will get a chance to visit wooden areas😊🤗. There are sites for travel carpooling ortravel companions and you might find opportunities for low cost/no cost travelling and even if modest, you travel with people and explore new places. Wooden areas are magical and full of things and calming and and...😊 just try to go if you want, you will find a way USA has all varieties of geography it is a pitty not to explore and enjoy your beautiful country.

@Jay1963

Hello Jay!

Yes, I understand. Maybe over there it is less common and of course it depends on areas where one lives.

Yes, it's a pretty nice thing to see chestnuts growing on trees till the moment they can be picked up : when ready they naturally fall on the ground and they appear like my current profile's picture.

I wanted to share something that is proper of fall moment, it may help us remember that every season has its beauty laugh

Take care!
