If it is a good sized one, it is not as hard as it seems

does not need to be completely level because the weight of the water will make it flat. 

I've done three or four above ground pools. And it does need to be level, not perfectly but anything over 2 inches out of level you will have to redo. The easiest way to do it is use sand for a base. Because if it's too out of level it will put too much pressure on the walls. Hope this helps
