My sex drive doesn't exist since I've been in menopause
I have zero sex drive since I've been in menopause. My poor husband. He probably thinks it's him but it's not...it's me. Just nothing turns me on. I just want to snuggle hold hands and spend time together.
@BookishWendy
it would be great idea to see your doctor. There are many side effects from lower levels of estrogen. It is very common. You are not alone. Doctors are specialists that can guide you to treatments that fit your health status.
Intimacy can mean sssooo many things. Yes even hand holding, fun conversations to a kiss and so much more. Ever consider date nights are very fun and it brings back some of that fun & frolic … enjoy each other on many levels to maintain that connection. 💕💕💕
Thank you for posting this issue. Did you know there is a women’s issues forum as well ? I will link it here for you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing a diminished sex drive since entering menopause. It's important to remember that changes in hormones during this phase of life can affect sexual desire for many women. It's common for menopause to have an impact on intimacy and for couples to navigate these changes together. Open and honest communication with your husband can be instrumental in maintaining a healthy and fulfilling relationship. Explaining that it's not about him, but rather a natural aspect of menopause, may help alleviate any concerns or misconceptions.
@BookishWendy I understand that going through menopause can bring about significant changes in your body and emotions, including a decline in sex drive. It's essential to remember that this is a natural part of the aging process, and many women experience similar shifts in their desires during this time.
It's heartening to see that you have a loving and understanding husband who supports you through this journey. Open communication about your feelings can be crucial in maintaining a strong and intimate connection with your partner. Let him know that your lack of sex drive is not a reflection of his desirability or attractiveness; it's simply a normal part of the changes your body is going through.
It's wonderful that you still crave emotional intimacy, snuggling, holding hands, and spending quality time together. Intimacy can take many forms, and emotional connection is just as vital as physical intimacy in a relationship. Communicate your feelings and desires with your husband so that you can both find ways to bond and strengthen your relationship in a way that feels fulfilling for both of you.
Also, consider speaking with a healthcare professional about your concerns regarding your sex drive and any other menopausal symptoms you may be experiencing. They can offer guidance and potential treatments that may help alleviate some of the challenges you're facing.
Remember, you are not alone in this experience, and with understanding and support, you and your husband can navigate this chapter together, finding new ways to nurture your relationship and maintain the emotional bond that you both cherish.

At least you are open to holding hands and snuggling. My wife says her sex drive also went to zero because of menopause. She tells me it is not me and that she is happy, but I am not. Zero effort toward intimacy even if it is not sexual. Of course, if you are happy, why put any effort toward anything else? So, I guess this is totally my problem and not “our problem”.
I can guess this to not be a very popular opinion, but I feel marriage is a teamwork effort. I provide, consider, and respect her desires and preferences. Where is the reciprocation? It seems like you are at least concerned for your husband’s desires or comfort as well. I hope you find some balance and keep a level of happiness with your husband and yourself. Good luck.
@SleeplessVet
Please correct me if I'm off, but isn't it a moment when you ask for open marriage?
@LostTurtle2
Not in an "open marriage" and not sure I said anything about that. I was praising Wendy for being open to holding hand etc... or other forms of intimacy.
Men do love sex and if he doesn’t get it anymore and she’s not willing to do it then what’s the answer? I mean I don’t like going to work but I still do it!
@BookishWendy that is natural to feel that way, most of us women go through. Some are lucky and don't get it.
@BookishWendy
Look into Damiana tea <3
Bookish, based on your other thread, could it be a side effect of your meds?
Besides, there are treatments for that. Look into Testosterone pellets for women. Check with your doc if this is something you could use.
We all deserve happiness.
Happy husband happy life!
