Need advice!!
Hi, so I'm a 16 year old from india and the craze of becoming an engineer over here is crazy. Parents hear want their children to either become doctors or engineers. My parents are forcing me to become an engineer and I'm preparing for an exam for it. But my heat says otherwise. I love music and I really wanna pursue a career in music. I really don't know what to do. I feel like I'm wasting my time. Someone please help me. My parents don't support me. And by the time I fulfill their dream and start working for mine, it will be too late as the competition isn't less either. Please help.
Hi... So I'm from India too. Try saying your parents that you wanna opt for the arts group? Like I've heard that most of the singers usually do bcom as it's less stressful than science group. Hope my suggestion helped . Have a nice day

So, hi! You are under tremendous pressure. I would recommend you and your parents sitting down together and watching the movie "Three ***" about three young men who enter Engineering College in India. One of the three wants to pursue a career in Photography, but of course the parents want him to be an Engineer. It is a story about pursuing one's dreams, and how becoming an Engineer isn't for everyone. I can say this as a daughter of an Engineer, sister of two Engineer brothers and with an Engineer son. And, yes, Engineers, as you can see, were and are valued in my household, but I still can say, it's not for everyone! Also, this movie was mandatory watching for all the students of the Magnet Technology school my children attended. Mental health and striving for one's dreams are more important than a career as Engineer or Doctor. Yes, they are good paying professions, but one has to decide what all the hours of one's life are going to be spent doing as well, and the trade off is mental health in many cases.

I thought they will be happy after my selection in exam for doctor but no their expectations get higher and now i regret i can't even focus
You should convince your parents but first you must be sure about yourself

There comes a point in all of our lives when we battle with our parent's ideals and the conflict of what our own hearts want and need. It is hard to exert yourself no matter what age you are or where abouts in the world you live. I have spent a lifetime seeking approval that never came.
I would ask you to grab your courage with both hands and follow your own path. Ultimatley it is your life, not your parent's. You have many years ahead of you and you need and deserve to be happy and fulfilled. Tact is key with your family but i would urge you wholeheartedly to live your life and follow your dreams. Because the other path....trying to please others, never ever works. And i have spent a lifetime trying to do just that.....with very little success. Please live your life, on your terms and your parents may grumble and make noises about it. But given time, they will accept your choices. Handle them tactfully and they will gradually come round.
This is your life, so please be true to yourself. Any other path leads to unhappiness. I wish you well xxx

I would suggest you to leave your home. & Try to earn somehow. & Then try to do music.
It is difficult way but in the end it will benefit you.
Whether you do music or not. But do this Leave your home and try to earn.
