Yes it has happened to many people ..... no shame in being caught up in it some are good at it....
when reaching out and talking to strangers on the internet many simply do not keep their guard up.
it is easy to want to believe whatever they tell you hope they only duped you small i have seen some taken in and "lent" a lot of money to the scammer.
