An old wreck
Hi,
I will be turning 50 in a few weeks and I am not comfortable with myself.
I have been through a tough time for about a year now, I thought it would pass, but it seems everything's the same.
I feel mediocre, useless, like I've done nothing good of my life.
I have a nice family, a job I don't like but that pays my bills and no more dreams, projects, desires for the future.
In a nutshell, I am a failure.

Yes my friend, we all have our ups and downs. Maybe you are in a phase of maturing?

Hi bubbleSouth, welcome to our community
. Turning 50 is a big milestone in our lives. It must be very painful to see yourself in such a negative light right now and not feeling comfortable in your own skin. At this stage in life many people reflect on past achievements and what else they like to accomplish. These thoughts can make turning fifty seem somewhat frightening particularly if you feel nothing has changed in your life and you're still dealing with the same challenges.
I'm glad you have the comfort of a nice family and a job which pays the bills and allows you to afford to make some things happen you dream about, this is something very precious.
It must be had to see yourself as a failure, I hope coming here will help you to find peace and balance. What are things you would like to change in your life?
