We learn to love others, show affection, be nice when we are young but sadly many of us did not learn to love ourselves, to embrace the person we are and to forgive us for wrong doings and that can weight us down. I'm glad you took the courage to reach out! Something that helped me most in learning to love myself more is to accept myself how I am, to see the good things I did instead of focusing on what went wrong and to forgive what needed forgiveness. The more I practise this and also gratitude for being able to live, to experience the beauty of this world (it needed mindfulness practise to see it) the more happiness came into my life. Have you ever thought about writing down all things you did well in life, even the smallest things and keeping a gratitude journal in which you can write down a few things you are grateful for in a day at night? Something that can also work very well is having a buddy and both of you send each other a message every day stating at least one thing they felt grateful for that day.
5-Minute Self Love Meditation
@littleHuman6532 im in therapy, and we go through a routine every week of saying to myself positive words or phrases, that seems to help me.
