New member 50+ and stressed to the max! Though I should be enjoying my recent retirement, there are just way too many family stresses going on right now that I have no control over. That's tough for someone who's naturally a bit of a control freak, you know? Looking for ways to cope better so I can relax a little, not feel responsible for everyone and everything, and lower my anxiety level. Hoping there are some who may have been here and might share ideas of what's worked for them.

I am always around dear ... as we share same age ... so understanding will come naturally :)
@ I can certainly understand being a control freak when younger. I had to give that up as the load of caregiving increased and I realized I'd kill myself trying to do it all. That didn't sit well but there just weren't enough hours in each day. Wishing you healing and blessings on your healing journey.

Just joined this group. 63 and retired. So many issues. So much time. Very little purpose.

Im 56. Not retired. I mostly spend my time with 20 year olds, very involved with my 3 sons- Im the mom. I believe the key to relationships with adult children is to pick something to be involved in together. Kind of like kids, but on a less frequency, but consistent and develop a new skill set each time, and just enjoy. Do we are doing Drones this spring and summer, fall.
