so, im not interested in playin the piano, all it gives me is stress bc i always think im not good enough and never good enough. im aware of this mindset but i just cant get it away from my head. so i just want to quit my piano lesson, so i can focus on other thing i like and actually pretty good at, and keep improving. but my mom's keep forcing me to join the piano lesson. i personally think this is going nowhere, the teacher sucks, they dont even know what to do, and im not interested and never actually practice anymore either. i think its just waste of money for her, and i do think its best for me just to quit. but she just wont let me, and making me feel even more pressured. what should i do?

Hi! Umm. Have you ever thought of giving up on walking your first baby steps, speaking your first word or your first try to write the alphabet? I am pretty sure we all must have fallen before getting steady with our walking, we must have blabbered a lot before constructing a word as short as Mom. I know most of us are the worst at many things. But it all comes with practice and hard work which makes you feel so accomplished and satisfied at the end and that's when you feel the proudest for not giving up. Try it! You won't regret it! Good luck!

@AwkwardSenpai Hi! I'm not sure I understand your situation correctly. You have an adult account here at 7 Cups, and you're posting in the community for people aged 50 and over, but your problem is your mom won't let you quit piano lessons? This seems very unusual.

It sounds like your mom needs help so she can understand that you are not interested in the piano. If she is interested in the piano, and she has money for piano lessons, then maybe she would like to take piano lessons herself. Does she have friends or other family members she can talk to about this, so she can find a solution she can be happy with?

I notice you say you think it's best for you just to quit. I wonder what would happen if you just quit. Would it be a big problem?
