Removing Names From Feed Posts
Hi everyone, this morning, I saw this circulating the feed:
"My fellow female listeners. There is a listener on 7 cups named XXX who is creating multiple accounts and pretending to be a woman. He as been known to sexually harass the female listeners on 7 cups of tea. I know people are working on getting all of his accounts removed, but I thought you should be aware of this. "PLEASE BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND REPORT any suspicious behavior. We want to continue to keep 7 cups of tea a safe place! Please share this and spread the word!!"
While the information in this post is correct, we cannot set a precedence for sharing names of any kind in our feeds. Please do not share the names of members, guests or listeners you have supported in your feed post. Additionally, if someone is abusive or engaging in inappropriate behavior, do not share their name publicly.
I can see the intention is good here, we all want to help and protect each other from harmful people. We should continue to do that (bc that is what you do in a community, you look out for each other). But this can be done without mentioning specific names or characteristics. A more generic post would be appropriate.
For example:
If you encounter X,Y,Z behaviors, please take X action.
We will be updating the community guidelines to be more clear about this! Thank you!
Thank you for clarifying this @Laura. This person is definitely hurting people in the community a great deal. But, when we share their name, it's hard to enter a chat with the name XXXX and not wonder if this is the same person....that's not really fair to all the members/guests who have that in their handle. A confusing and emotionally driven topic for sure! I hope it gets completely resolved soon. *hugs* to all who are impacted by it--directly or indirectly.
I had no idea this was going on here. Sounds like a whole kettle of trouble to be getting into. Now I see that the idea of paid training seems to be getting better and better.
