A thread of peace 🕊️
Peace is not silence. Silence can be empty, even cruel, if justice is absent. True peace is when every voice is safe, every soul is valued, every life is dignified.
I have learned that wars don’t begin with weapons — they begin in the heart. A wounded ego, an unhealed hurt, a refusal to listen. And so peace, too, must begin in the heart: with patience, with mercy, with the courage to see another human being as equal to myself.
Peace is not weakness. It takes more strength to forgive than to retaliate, more power to build bridges than to destroy them. Anyone can throw stones, but only the brave can open their hands.
If hatred can be taught, peace can be taught too. If anger spreads like fire, then compassion spreads like light. Both are contagious — and every day, I am forced to choose which one I will carry.
I remind myself that peace begins small. With a word I choose not to say in anger. With a smile I offer instead of suspicion. With a child I teach to love instead of hate. These moments are seeds — and if enough are planted, the world will grow a forest of peace.
I know peace will never arrive all at once. It is stitched together slowly — a thread of mercy here, a thread of justice there — until one day, humanity is clothed in it.
And so I pray: let me be one of the weavers. Let my words, my choices, my heart, become a thread for peace. Because peace is not something I wait for — it is something I create.
