Stress Awareness Discusson: Common Stressors

sometimes we get so wrapped up in this anxiety thing that we forget why we're even worried, isn't it?

what i'd like for us to do today is make a list of our stressors.

it doesn't have to be complete and you may or may not feel like providing detail or explanation for why these things cause you stress, but i would like you to take some time to think about the what & whies of your anxieties--little things, big things, in-between things--then share them with the community here, and maybe respond to others who have done the same, yeah? <3

later in the week, we will share coping mechanisms that work for us (and ones that don't), so keep an eye out of people who have similar stressors ^-^!

One of my big stressors is having to carry all the weight at home, at church, and with some friends, and with our Gospel group. It seems that they all depend on me to do everything. The weight of all this stuff gets me stressed out. Being played for stupid is a major stressor for me.

@scarletPear1945

I can definitely relate to that! It sometimes feels like we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders, and it can be really overwhelming. All that pressure is stressful, and can really affect us.

Something that constantly stresses me out is school. Most of the time it really hits me when I don't understand a topic (generally school comes easy, but I try to push myself, and sometimes I think that might go too far).

Another thing that worries me is relationships (especially recently). I always wonder if I'm doing the right thing, and if I'm not, the stress kicks in and my brain automatically starts overreacting to the situation at hand.

I hope that everyone has little ways to try and help with all of the stressors in your life! Breathe; it'll work itself out eventually. That's what I always tell myself. :)

My mother. I still try to please her in every way hoping to get some kind of validation from her. Even though I'm 33 I still hear those drunken screams "ungrateful brat" in my head.

Second one would be other people. Like stepping into a bus is a trial for me since I'm convinced everyone is watching me and laughing and whispering about me. I think this super low self-esteem is because of bullying at school.

Myself. I'm so hard on myself and always expecting perfectionism. Because I know nothing less is good for. "You can always be better" said my dad. If I draw the lines with free hand on my math book he erased them and I had to do everything over with ruler.

Everytime I try to go to sleep my head spins around every little thing where I have let people down. Where I have done wrong.

So I thinks actually I am the worst enemy of myself.

My biggest stressors are: lack of sleep; work; studies;
they all give me feeling that I am living from one deadline to another. that makes me feel like I am trapped and there is no way out of this cycle. and that it will go on and on regardless. and if I stope I'd break down. so I go on and feed my neurosis, feed my anxiety.
