Coping with Anxiety: If You Ignore It, Will It Go Away?

Anxiety or Anxiety Disorder?
An anxiety disorder is a chronic state of fear. It differs from anxiety in its excessiveness; it just doesn’t seem to ease up or go away. If you struggle with anxiety, how do you best handle it to help keep it at bay?
I definitely try to keep my anxiety in check by doing things that I love! I love to spend time with my loved ones, take nice naps, go out and eat yummy food, exercise, and watch TikToks! It's so important to prioritize our mental health because it can impact all aspects of our lives! Anxiety may be tough, but we are tougher!

@fruityPond7887 I cope with anxiety by deep breathing. Whenever I feel like I'm about to have an anxiety attack. I do the 4-7-8 breathing technique. It helps!
@comfortableNight4463 That sounds really awesome! I sometimes use that one as well! :) Sometimes it's hard to breathe out for that long though 😂
@fruityPond7887 Oh definitely😂. I have asthma as well so it makes it way more difficult.

If I struggle with anxiety, it is usually social related. I try to put my thoughts into perspective to see what is the worst outcome and whether there is something I can do. For example, if I am anxious about the presentation, then the worst outcome is that I would stutter or people would see I am very nervous. What I can do is prepare for the presentation well. Then I use positive self-talk to boost my confidence and lessen my anxiety by knowing that even if it does not go well, it is still not the end of the world and it can happen to everyone.
@globalBraid3744 That's a really great way to keep things in perspective! Anxiety can make us worry about worst case scenario, but I love how you take that control back and rationalize the worst case! I love it and definitely something everyone should do when they feel overwhelmed! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
