August 2021 Events - National Just Because Day

Hi everyone! Today is an awesome day - it’s National Just Because Day!
Today gives us all an opportunity to do things… just because! Often with depression, it can make it hard for us to do quite a few tasks sometimes - from getting out of bed to planning a vacation. Every day, everyone does things that are required, but on this day, this is a chance to do things without reason. It can feel good, uplifting, and alive when we do spur-of-the-moment things. So do them just because!
Let’s travel back to the early 1960’s… National Just Because Day was created by Joseph J. Goodwin to honour his time spent with family and his life in general. He celebrated his first Just Because Day by gifting his wife a new transistor radio, and from that day on, it became an annual tradition in the family and eventually all over the United States!
Remember that you don’t need a special reason to enjoy things in your life or do something spontaneous. This is a great day in which we can look at the little things a bit bigger, and enjoy things we may not appreciate regularly enough. This day is the perfect reminder of that and also a great way to spread random acts of kindness!
Maybe there is an outfit you really want to buy, or a vacation you want to take, or drive around and blast songs in your car, or a call you want to make to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Whatever it is, this is your time to do it… just because!

Umm I am certain there are a couple of things I've been putting off , this marks as a good reminder ~ so to start with I'll try and make a list of things lol , and probably get something done today .
