By now I guess there's no surprise element about replying here first lol. 😆
Another awesome event, Emma, i look forward to the discussions on emotional wellness, a really important topic for all of us.❤ Kudos to the entire team working on this.
- What does emotional wellness mean to you?
For me, emotional wellness means being aware and feeling connected with your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and being able to cope with different stressors in life, adapting to change and challenges.
- How might one achieve or work towards being emotionally well?
Good question, also difficult question. :P
I feel the first step would be acknowledge that Emotional wellbeing is as important, and how it creates an impact for us, whatever in a positive way or a negative way.
It is not easy or comfortable working towards our emotional wellbeing, but since it's vital, we gotta keep trying our best at it.
Something that helps is being aware of our emotional needs, and experimenting different ways of fulfilling them. Being in touch with our emotions, not suppressing them or bottling things inside, being able to recognize a shift in our emotional health, and making ourselves aware of the "triggers" that lead to such, working on the triggers, using affirmations to instill that we deserve to feel better and that we got this, whatever "this" at the time being is for us.
Having those self-introspecting conversations can be quite helpful, either could use the space provided by a trustworthy friend for this or someone here too, if neither then yay journal time hehe, just having a space for our thoughts and emotions, giving them a let out, acknowledging them and validating how we feel in a particular situation. Assessing our current needs and future expectations with ourselves, and the relationships we are in, working on those aspects also.
Working towards a healthier lifestyle, good food, sleep, habits that sustain our wellbeing. Investing time and energy in ourselves and the people around us that uplift us and help us reach a more content and happier state in life. And so much more hehe.
Ofcourse, little by little and step by step. ❤
@EmmaE
To me, emotional wellness is just as important as physical wellness. Emotional wellness is doing things to make sure that we/I tend to my emotional needs at any given time. I'm not great at it but progress is possible.
