✅ Course 1 Summary (Unofficial – Just Sharing to Help!)
Hey everyone! I'm not part of the teaching or academy team, just a recent graduate Quality Listening Program with Honors who wanted to offer some help. I created this quick summary for myself as a revision tool and thought it might help others, too. Feel free to use it as a casual reference or last-minute review before your quiz! 💙
🧭 7 Cups Leadership Development Program – Course 1 Recap
💙 1. Culture & Core Beliefs
-
High Warmth + High Expectations = Growth
We support people with care (warmth), but also expect effort and accountability (high standards). This combo creates real personal and team growth. -
Trust & Kindness Are the Foundation
Leaders at 7 Cups focus on trust-building through kindness, listening, and consistency. When people feel safe, collaboration and impact improve naturally. -
Leadership Is What You Do
You don’t need a title to lead. Leadership is about stepping up, solving problems, and showing care. It’s how you act that matters most.
🧠 2. Burnout Awareness
-
Symptoms:
Feeling overwhelmed, irritable, disconnected, or like your efforts don’t matter. These are signs that your “tank” might be low. -
Causes:
Taking on too much, not asking for help, trying to do everything perfectly, or lacking a self-care rhythm. -
How to Prevent It:
Make a personal self-care plan, set boundaries, check in with yourself regularly, and let your team know if you need a break—don’t vanish.
🔄 3. Systems Over Goals
-
Goals are about the end result (e.g., “Finish Course 1”).
-
Systems are your daily habits and behaviors that get you there (e.g., “Study 15 mins a day, review notes weekly, ask questions”).
-
Focus on building sustainable systems—you'll naturally hit your goals.
🧩 4. Growth Mindset & Behavior
-
Solving Problems = Progress
Leadership is about staying solution-focused. Don’t worry if something fails—just ask “What’s the next most important thing I can solve?” -
You Reproduce Who You Are
The energy you bring (positive or negative) affects others. Your habits, attitude, and how you handle stress will echo through your team.
⚠️ 5. Energy Drainers to Avoid
-
Acting like a jerk (rudeness, dismissiveness)
-
Being distracted (not fully present)
-
Making excuses (instead of owning issues)
These behaviors harm your credibility and your impact—stay conscious of them.
✨ Bonus Leadership Tips
-
Be flexible. Teamwork requires adjustment and openness.
-
Ask for help. Great leaders are never afraid to say, “I don’t know.”
-
Keep going. When things feel hard or uncertain, that’s often when the most growth is happening.
