There could be typical extreme moods that people can experience in recovery, do you feel like to share about that?

To me it's always music, dancing, and mathematics, my mind is hyperactive and only through these I can channel the restlessness.

Hi there!

Sounds like a really good method, interesting too!

Music and dance are also relaxing, interesting that maths keeps your mind busy and maybe is it also an interesting challenge?

Well done! yes

@BeyondTheInvisible

Yeah I challenge my mind to construct proofs, it really helps, some of my well written proofs were born during these times, sometimes only music helps, so I feel music is more powerful than anything!

@BeyondTheInvisible

Some that come to mind are:

Music, Guided meditations, Reading, Watching T.V. shows and films, Gentle yoga, Talking to a close friend, Sleeping in longer (if possible), Councelling if possible (and you can find a good one worth talking to), prescribed medication (if appropriate), writing poetry or journalling.

I use to get really bad mood swings when stopping any substance. It's not as bad for me now, because I am far more strick about tapering off any substance I've been using and not stopping suddenly. Stopping certain substances suddenly can even cause death, and even if they don't, they make make you feel suicidal and / or be irratable and unkind to the people you care about the most.

I think that learning to tapper off of substances, even if I planned to take them again as soon as I had the money, was one of the best things I ever did for my mental health, and my relationships with those around me.

Tapering refers to the gradual lowering of a drug's dosage over a prolonged period of time: https://psychonautwiki.org/wiki/Tapering

@resourcefulPond1641 Thank you so much for sharing this important safety information. It's always a good idea to do your research when quitting a substance and it's an even better idea to be under medical supervision if possible while you're tapering off and/or withdrawing from a substance.
