What is your favorite self-care?

We all have worked so hard in our own definition to make positive changes. What is your go-to self-care? If you don't have one, what are you imagining to be? We all deserve time to ourselves. What's your favorite?

Try to finish EVERYTHING that should be done

Take a breathe exercise

Eat

Take a BOILING shower

Wear the most comfortable clothes

Then Read a great book with a good drink

How funny! This looks just like what my self-care would look if I ever get a chance to do it. Something about finishing all your task and taking a nice hot shower makes me feel like I've done it all. I also enjoy reading but have not been able to really find a book that I find interesting. What are you reading now?

@Jackie Great thread, thank you for creating it. I moved it to the games/icebreakers subforum fyi.

I like to listen to music as self care. I also enjoy yoga and meditation. All these coping methods help me not with just addictions but my overall well-being.

@lovelyWhisper66

awesome! I've been entertaining some meditating ideas. How do you usually meditate? I am quite restless and have really hard time just sitting and doing nothing. Is there any tips you have for me?

@Jackie I usually combine it with yoga and do deep breathing to really get into it. Ive also attended workshops in the past, doing it in a group setting with an instructor verbally guiding the process. It does take time and effort to get into.

I suggest checking out the mindfulness subcommunity which offers many reaources involving meditation.

@Jackie Being alone is my go-to and is usually the best for me.

I think may of us are the same way. I also like spending time alone and it's not self-care until I get a nap! :-)

Vodka and cigarettes are my favourite self care...

@Butterflee

That use to be my self-care. Smokes and cognac!

I am not to judge but I really hope you find something else that's better for your body. Have you tried distracting yourself by keeping busy? Sometimes busy work or task can be a wonderful way to self-care. :-)
