How to move on from good novels, movies, and tv shows rightaway?

I'm too busy at the moment studying for board exam to get lost in these beautiful arts but at the same time I feel so lonely without them. What's wrong with me though is that I let them take over my mind once I finished them. I can literally think of them the whole day, the whole week. Whatever I do, mostly when I'm studying an attention-demanding subjects my mind wanders in them and then I go back to them, and start feeling everything again. My body's in place but my mind is somewhere far away and I don't want that anymore. Please help.

@plumField5702 Hi there, and sorry for the late reply! As a huge fan girl myself, I totally get where you are coming from. I get quite lost in my numerous fandoms. It is good that you have such self awareness as it is a major stepping stone towards progress. How often do you feel this way? How have you tried to handle this so far? If you ever need to talk with someone, you can always reach out to the listeners here. Best wishes, and we are here for you!

@lovelyWhisper66 No worries, sorry for the late reply too. Every time I finished them, and it feels like it takes almost a week before I move on from them. Right now, I'm limiting myself to reading novels only and I have my laptop locked by my sister. There was actually one time when I almost wanted to quit studying for the board exams just because I read a really beautiful novel. I'm afraid to feel that again. Thank you, anyway.

@plumField5702 No need to apologize, you're fine! It is great that you are restraining yourself to just novels. It is totally fine to read as it can be stress relieving and provide a nice study break, just as long as one does not overdo it. Having your sister help out is great; having that social support can help you in overcoming this issue. You're making fantastic progress so far! Feel free to keep us updated on how things turn out for you whenever you like. Thank you again for sharing, and best wishes!
