Addicted to my emotional abuser

I have been in an emotional/mental abusive marriage for almost 10 years. One contributor is that he’s an alcoholic though. Does your significant other have an addiction? I have stayed in this relationship so long with hopes that he would change but it’s not going to happen. I’m not so young anymore though and I am basically trapped. I hope you will realize that people who are emotionally abusive always have a motive and will never change unless they get help. I also hope you don’t have kids involved. Save yourself and leave. It will just wear you down physically and mentally.
