I have always used my phone a lot but now my screen time is getting to a point where I feel like it’s becoming a problem. I’m talking an average of between 8-10 hours a day on my phone alone not including the laptop (I’m doing online uni) or TV etc. I feel like I’m using it as a crutch to avoid certain tasks and especially certain feelings. I’ve tried to limit my use age but it feels impossible, it’s such a strong compulsion and often I give in without realising. I completely lose track of time to the point where I was supposed to start an assignment at 2pm today, it’s now 5:30pm and I’ve literally just been on my phone? It sucks time away and I feel anxious and twitchy when I don’t have it around me. I have a pickup daily average of over 130. I find myself checking and rechecking every few minuets even though I know no notification is going to be there. I really don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

Hey,nowdays that habit is very common. I am not an expert but through my therapy ,I saw that my attachment to my phone was because of the feeling of loneliness and anxiety . I was in need of connection to the world ,especially during the pandemic and it is a way out when i feel the need unconsciously to avoid the anxiety of doing what i have to do. Maybe, you should journal your thoughts when you are grabbing your phone and how it makes you feel and how this feeling for example connection will be replaced in some other way. But dont be harsh on yourself. It happens to everyone. Thanks for sharing ,we are here for you

I also have the same problem bro.... It's affecting my health and job too... Tried but not able to recover from this addiction... Insomnia is a side effect of this... Tried an app called Yourhour. The app is great... But I am addicted beyond that level ..God Save mee...m
