What did you learn from rehab?

Some of us may have attended outpatient or inpatient drug rehabilitation programs to help us fight our addictions, and to better understand ourselves and how we can control our addiction. We learn lots of different things from rehab.. What are some of the things you learnt, and has it helped you get to where you are now?

I've done both in patient and out patient rehab programs and the main thing I learned was that healing and recovery take time. I always tried to rush the process in my attempt to "fix" myself and get back to normal. I learned that it is a journey, embrace It, especially all the feelings that come flooding back. There are no good or bad feelings. Addiction was my escape from all of that and I learned that I no longer want to avoid life. It takes time and a lot of work but it's worth it and so am I.

i agree!! It's difficult work and recovery takes time. I am recovering from alcoholism, opiates and benzos. We will get there ❤️
