Hi I’m 20 years old, I recently realized I have a problem with alcohol use. I don’t drink everyday I did drink every weekend and black out and ruin a lot of my relationships also my homegirls knew me as the one who always gets the most drunk etc and things like that is what made me realize I have a problem. I’m somewhat embarrassed and ashamed that everyone around me knew I had a problem except me. I’m embarrassed for my actions and the things I say when I’m drunk I’m embarrassed that I’m perceived and a drunk girl. But I am 12 days sober. This weekend I actually didn’t go out and party I just stood at home with my mom. I’m trying to just stay home more but it’s hard i get so antsy and I have no friends to talk to while I’m home so if anyone would like to befriends and we can vent to each the for simply be bored together I would appreciate that, thank you for reading

@toughWriter1307

I'm proud of you for being twelve days sober 💚

It's brave to come here and open up and be honest.

I wish you the best with your recovery 💛

@toughWriter1307 ive been you. You are not alone. I’m 35 now and reading your post took me right back to my 20s. I’m proud of you for opening up and having this realization so young and doing something about it. It took me a lot longer to take action and I still struggle today.

Thank you for your kind words it’s nice to know I’m not the only one facing this. I’d love to hear more from you so we can somewhat relate to eachother and feel less alone on our journeys. Sending you virtual hugs
