Masturbation as an escape

I'm a married, name, 31 years old. I'm healthy, exercise, have a good career, worth some personal/ family/ marriage issues. For 2 years now I had been burnt out, and this manifested into a masturbation and porn addiction. I take control for weeks and weeks, but somesyas, I completely dissociate and relapse really hard, especially after my wife (who suffers from emotional disregulation) fight and especially when the fights get a bit intense. I am tired of this, i tried many things but always come back to this pattern even tho we have a healthy sex life.

@maksal

It's important if fighting with your wife triggers this, to find healthier ways to communicate with her, at these times.

And when burn out occurs, to Aldi fund coping mechanisms that don't leave you feeling isolated.

It's important for your wife too to find a way to express difficult feelings, so you can both come together , rather than been drawn apart 🤗

Hi, I will copy and paste below exactly what i wrote on another post here.

I'll try to help with anything possible. But know that this is my experience too, you're 2 years younger than me and we have almost that same issue with wives also. But seems that I'm fighting for a longer period than you, so I believe that I can contribute with your personal problem, because is also my personal problem, and the fight is still on. You can count on me, man.

Hopes up! There are ALWAYS hope! ALWAYS!

Love you, brother.

Hi,

keep up the good fight. It will not be easy and is great that you are acknowledging that your have a problem. I believe that is the first step for us. I suffer from the same problem, altho' i believe mine is a little worse (thanks god this is not a competition, lol)

If you want to share more, please do.

But one thing that made more easier to fight this, was understand how porn and masturbation affects our body, mind, brain. For me reading "Your brain on porn" and "Wired for Intimacy" was very very good. If you are interested on how to fight this, read those book.

And, again, please, share more if you want and if you need. I will probably be here every single day starting next week. I'm here to help, if possible.
