My parents are alcoholics and I don’t know what to do

I’m new here I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

I’m 30 years old and my parents are alcoholics. My dad has been an alcoholic ever since I can remember. My mum maybe started within the last ten years or so. Today this is more about my mum though as I’m seriously worried about her health and I don’t know what to do.

I live overseas but my sister lives at home and tells me what’s going on. We recently discovered my mum is addicted to diazepam and she’s mixing it with her alcohol. It puts her into these zombie like states. It’s caused to her have a lot of falls, her most recent being quite serious she fell from the top of the stairs, broke two bannisters on the way down and knocked herself unconscious.

She’s in serious denial when confronted and says she swears on her life she hasn’t taken anything and she only fell because she suddenly became dizzy.

She doesn’t go out, she doesn’t leave the house or have any interests. I feel like she’s given up on life and doesn’t care if she dies or not.

I’ve been crying a lot the last few days since my sister told me about her most recent fall. I just want my mum to be happy again. She has some really good friends in her life. She used to go out all the time she used to be so happy. I want that person back but I don’t know how to help her when she’s so in denial.

I’ve worked hard with visas and paid so much money to stay in the country I’m in but I’ve been considering moving back home to care for both my mum and dad and try to get them the help they need. I also hate that my younger sister (25) is having to see all this and deal with it by herself. She said seeing my mum fall down the stairs and laying there unresponsive was the scariest thing she’s ever seen in her life. It broke my heart. I feel like I should go home and I said this to my sister and she told me no because that won’t solve anything anyway. I don’t know what to do, it’s all I’ve been thinking about and I can’t really seem to concentrate on anything else at the moment

Oh my goodness! You are dealing with a very delicate situation.

You can move back to you mums house if you like but i don't know if that's in your best interest.

Your mum is a grown women who has to take responsibility for her successes and failures.

i am sending you good vibes hoping this situation improves and you aren't as stressed out about it.🌈
