Hello. My life is a complete dump. I am single, gay, HIV positive and I have over $200k of debt. I am such a good person but no matter what I do I feel like I can never move forward. I feel so alone. There is no one that can help me with the new of my life. Idk what to do. There isn't a day that passes that I didn't pity myself and my life choices. I want so much just to go back. Idk how to fix things. Sometimes I feel like maybe I should stop worrying, but other times it's like how can I not. How is everyone doing do much better? Why can't I get that happiness I deserve when I know I'm a good person? Sheet for the rant, but idk who to talk to or what to do. *Sigh*

@zayboy08

I totally understand your frustration. Taking care of your health is super important. Have you considered reaching out to a support group for people with HIV? I have heard that that helps a lot with additional support and knowing that you're not alone. I know dealing with a large debt can feel like a heavy burden. Maybe talking to a financial advisor or credit counselor could help lighten that load. They can help you create a plan to manage your debt and ease some of that stress. Remember, it's okay to ask for help and take things one step at a time.

@zayboy08 This may not be helpful, but everyone else is faking it just as much as you are. You think everyone is doing better than you, but in reality, the only thing they’re better at is hiding it.

I can’t even imagine having to deal with the isolation that comes with HIV, especially in a world where we’re supposed to be progressive and empathetic.  Not only that, debt eats away at you. Financially and emotionally. There’s not much advice I can offer you, (because 1. we’re not allowed, and 2. I don’t want to overstep) other than happiness comes in the smallest ways.

Life is about change, life is about experiencing. It changes for better or for worse sometimes. At the end of it all, it’s the little things. The sunset on a really nice day. The way the birds chirp when the snow starts melting. The smell of rain, freshly mowed grass, the small luxury of a chocolate bar. We’ve been trained to believe that money buys happiness, but sometimes that’s not the case. You can’t buy a sunset. You can’t buy the wild birds outside your window. You can’t buy the scent of fresh rain or mowed grass- at least, not the authentic scent. You can’t buy the serotonin rush that comes from a flavour you enjoy. And even if you can, they will never compare to the real thing- and the real thing is free

200k is a lot of debt. It’s a lifetime’s worth. I know what a weight that must be. I hope you get through whatever rough patches you have to trudge through. I hope the world eases up on you and stops giving you challenges to bear. You deserve some peace and some rest.
