Pleasure Addiction

I'm in a very difficult situation at the moment as a Christian male in the UK. I don't want to have sexual urges or anything like that anymore.

I feel ashamed and depressed afterwards and I feel like it's becoming really unhealthy and that I would be so much happier without it. I thought about castration since that seems to be the only solution but it seems extreme and I don't even know if it's an option in this country unless I had a medical issue which required it. Also it's permanent of course, which can be scary. I'm very unsure on what to do.

Thousands of Christian couples enjoy a relationship without lust or temptation, I just don't want this high sex drive or horniness anymore.

I know Christianity has a community of people who are celibate and I think it would be amazing to follow that.

@Spirolysis Main stream religions are nothing but state approved cults. Their teachings are nonsense. It is perfectly normal for a person to have sexual feelings.

Just try to take small steps in the right direction.

Envision yourself when you are not addicted to sex, have that picture in mind, and make baby steps to become that person. Eventually, you will become them.

Sexual urges are rarely talked about but they are detrimental to some. Do small things like find a hobby, keep your phone/laptop outside of your room, and overall try to become 1% closer to that ideal person everyday.

I suffer from this addiction too and I am trying to change for the better. A big thing is belief - you just gotta believe and out ALL of your faith in God. Read Bible verses, confess, etc.

It will take time, but you must believe.

@Spirolysis

Hi I am sorry you are going through this hard time, and feeling conflicted. Sexual urges are indeed normal but I do understand and respect your religion... I would just like to remind you that your god loves you no matter what, and you are not actually doing anything wrong. He accepts you, I promise. Try to keep that in mind. I hope you start to feel better soon.
