Hello everyone I’m 29 old
I’m really struggling with ***, and with time I realize it’s really impossible to quit it, one time i did make it through 45 days without it the other time 25 days these two are the longest periods I’ve gotten
I just can’t get off it and it feel helpless, and it effects my life, specially after i start reading about it relationship with dopamine it really misses with our brains
Today i will start new journey following the next exact steps
1 ) no social media or movies or series ( to avoid any sexual visuals)
2 ) 20 min walks , the reason is it make ur brain release natural dopamine and some other things that good for focus and nerve system
3 ) write about my journey here everyday, and that for accountability, and support
If you guys have any steps that helped you i would really appreciate it,
Also if you someone struggled with the same problem as me and got through it please give us some hope for me and people like me
And if anyone want to get to this journey together that could even be better for all of us
Thaanks for the people who give us this app
@tidyGlobe6256 Hello Globe. I'm someone who have been through your experience.(I'm not fully healed but I have healed a lot) My healing journey started 3 months ago and 7 cups helped me a lot to fill the gap to spend time in a quality way and just talk about my struggles and be me. I had to put away my phone for a while (hard to function without it but yeah nothing worked for me other than that 🥲). I read an article which said willpower alone is never enough to get away from addictions. We have to create physical barriers. It said we try hard to heal with willpower only and hate ourselves for not being able to do that. Funny story, I got one of those button phones and used it for a month haha. I only kept my laptop, in which I blocked social media and other unwanted sites from the system.
I wrote everything in my head every morning. Weird thoughts, ideas, feelings, everything. Went outside a lot, connected with nature. I focused on myself, being me, loving myself, not comparing myself to others( which i did a lot). I realised there was a lot of toxic thoughts in myself. Thoughts of wanting to be ideal, to be perfect. I put away those thoughts. Not all but i tried to think about the things i truly love instead.
watching popular TED talks, coming on 7 cups and reading books helped (helps) me a lot.
You are so great to have opened up here,. It shows how strong you are. You made it for 45 days. That is so awesome. I am so happy for you for this new path of yours. But you have to know that this is not a linear path, not a staircase. You will fall. I go back sometimes. I fall down. I relapsed last week. and many times even in this healing journey. It's okay. You have to think about 'grey'. Healing is not totally white. but it's not fully black. You will do good things. But you will go back sometimes. But you notice now. You notice your feelings. You notice the triggers. You see the loose ends. Cut loose ends when you fall. even if you fall, you come back up faster.
The other important thing is please don't ever hate yourself. You are a human. You are okay. You are loved even with your flaws and addictions. This is a time you should be with yourself. Love yourself. Give bug bear hug even to your addicted self. Congratulate yourself for the small things. Try to notice small things outside, like how different trees move to the wind, birds, moon.
I am still on the healing journey so i am here going with you. Sending you all the love, strength and support. 💕🫂✨
Great job! Keep up the great work!
@tidyGlobe6256It sounds like you’re really committed to making a change, and your plan is a strong start. Avoiding triggers, walking, and writing daily can all help you regain control. Remember to be gentle with yourself, track your feelings, and build routines — small steps can make a big difference. You’re not alone in this.
