I appreciate your honesty.

It's something that many young people are now struggling with.

Due to isolation.

More access to devices.

It's something natural and healthy but that quickly becomes an unhealthy fixation, taking over lives.

It's about replacing it with something physical to burn off energy

Not isolating yourself.

Putting the device away

One day at a time.

Because nothing you are watching represents what actually happens in a real relationship 💙

I agree with Amanda ! You need a replacement, if you decide to stop your addiction or pause it - you have an emptiness you have nothing to fill with. Maybe my observation helps : I use “what if” approach. What if I stop doing it for a week , I’m curious to observe how it’s gonna be , maybe even write down thoughts , emotions and desires from 1 to 10 ( that helps a lot ). Now I quit internet scrolling . Used same approach- what if I just ignore every desire to use it . Turned out very easy with strong intention . And good thing is - replacements came by their own . Because when brain understands the usual thing is unavailable- he starts looking for smth else . I started more drawing and reading and brain already got used to it .

This is the desire which doesn’t cause another desire

Addiction is often how we deal with difficult emotions:

  • Hungry

  • Angry

  • Lonely

  • Bored

  • Tired

  • Stressed

Finding healthier ways of dealing with this feelings can go a long way
