I could really be doing with someone to talk to rn, I was 3 months clean and I have relapsed badly I feel so guilty and ashamed and also angry with myself because I feel like I have let so many people down, including myself, I am now having withdrawal symptoms and now im in hospital having treatment there doing a mini detox and sending me to phych ward because the reason I relapsed was because something bad happened to me, I just feel like a failure right now

@sammysfight I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a tough time right now. Relapsing can be incredibly difficult, it's important to remember that addiction is a complex issue, and setbacks are a common part of the recovery process. You are not a failure.

It takes a lot of strength and courage to seek help, and I'm glad to hear that you're getting the support you need in the hospital. It's okay to ask for help and to reach out for support, especially during challenging times like this.

Recovery is a process, and it's okay to take things one step at a time. Be kind to yourself and try to focus on the progress you've made, rather than dwelling on the setbacks. If you ever need someone to talk to or support, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Aww thanks hun, it is very difficult because now I feel like I have let so many people down including myself and that really hurts I didn't mean to relapse but some of my friends keep saying horrible things to me and saying im stupid or an attention seeker...

It did take a lot of strength because I was ashamed of it and I was afraid of getting into judged or getting in trouble with people but I want to stop the drugs and alcohol I don't want to be addicted like this all my life I hardly have any money to buy food or anything.

I won't hesitate to reach out because I have hit rock bottom and I'm sick of using all the time im just burning my money away, hurting friends and hurting myself im sick of it

I’m so sorry Sammy, that is so hard to have your friends saying awful things like that when you’re trying to get better. I don’t know your situation at all, but I know the terrible feeling of hurting other people because of your addictions, and the shame it can bring. I also have addictions and I know what it feels like to live with the pain that can seep into every aspect of your life and what it feels like to live with that for weeks, months, years.

But one thing that is positive is that we can make amends to those people, and maybe the people who are saying terrible things to you will eventually see that you’re just trying to get better. I’m sorry about your relapse, that happened to me on Sunday and yesterday and it can really mess with your head. That being said, like @Mya000 was saying, relapses are awful, but your progress up to this point is still there, there are still things you’ve learned and your 3 months are still there. :)

It sounds like it would take a lot of courage to talk about it with people and put “speaking up” before playing it safe, which is inspiring! I can also relate to the rock bottom feeling, with life getting so painful and that desperation to do anything to make it stop and/or stop using. I hope you know that I’m also here and would love to help in any way I can!!! We’re cheering you on! 🧡🧡🧡
