I hope someone listens to my message so its been a year and I havent stopped masturbating. I really want to stop fooling around and doing it cause I really feel ashame of myself and its completely not normal. All of my family are catholic and I am also very religious too. And I while doing it, I just felt like I have sinned everyday and I couldnt stop thinking about it. I really feel bad for my parents that I'm doing such a bad thing on myself.😞🥺

@tokyoo2021

I know it must be very tough for you but I would suggest you to keep yourself busy in some work or do what you love. Maybe it will help you to divert your mind.

Have a good day.

Dear tokyoo2021,

I hear what you are saying! Just wanted to reply to keep hope alive. I too, have struggled with shame and that is what often keeps us stuck. Believe that you are a person of great value and that if though we may get stuck in behavior that we are not proud of, that behavior does not define you. We can start all over and pursue those things that will feed us in a more positive way.

Hello Tokyoo2021,

Some of the info found on this website regarding addictions, especially when it comes to sexual brokenness, is very helpful. I would encourage you to spend time reading and journaling about your struggle. Writing enables you to articulate what’s going on, on the inside of you. Often when you are caught in a repetitive negative struggle that eats at your self esteem, it happens almost automatic. Writing as though you are talking to yourself enables you to tap into your subconscious, allowing to kinda “look under the hood” and examined what’s going on there. With that in mine, you can identify those negative thoughts that lead to negative behaviors and “learn to change” your thoughts and what you spend time thinking on. When we change our thoughts, our behavior follows.

Ask yourself if you ever heard these words, “finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is good, whatever is worthy of praise, if there is anything virtuous, think on these things.”

One last good tip, when we involve ourselves in behaviors that don’t agree with us and cause us to feel shamed based, the very next choice we must make is to do something positive. This is important because we can never “feel” our way into good behavior, we need to choose our way. Bottom line behaviors follow choices, not the other way around.

Hope this helps!
