Intimacy Issues and it’s Connection to Addiction
Hi everyone. I am a student who has been trying to quit watching porn for over a year now. I was freely watching porn for three years before this period. I don’t feel that I can be open with my family about who I truly am, and I feel that this is fueling my addiction. When I get on long streaks, I start to want to be close to my family, but my fear of being vulnerable and exposing my true self stops me. I found out today online about what intimacy disorder/issues are, and based on my examination, I fit the criteria. I’ve also been struggling with loneliness, and have been longing to share my feelings and ideas with another person who is interested and cares. I have been doing many other things to stop viewing porn, but I feel that these intimacy issues that I have are the core of my addiction, and I hope that once I figure out these intimacy issues that I have, my addiction will fade away. Thank you to all of the supportive members of 7 Cups, and I pray that we will all overcome the obstacles we are facing. As a wise man once said, ‘this too shall pass.’
Nothing worng of watching porn 90% or more have watched porn in their life time and a lot. Humans are made to reproduce and the main tool for that is sexual fantasy. Don't worry to much just keep it moderate and nothing excecive, exercise more and eat healthy and most important be happy.
