Porn addiction

I have been addicted to porn since I was in my teens, which is a bit uncomfortable to say. I am now a young adult (19) and I am realizing how much time I spent watching porn and staying in bed, especially when I am not in class or I'm on vacation. I have since started to slowly ween off of porn because going cold turkey has been very difficult. It's getting better. There were times in the past where I would masturbate to it 4+ times a day and not even get out of bed, and now I am able to go 2/3 days without it. And I have to say, i am starting to desire it less and less. I recently came out to a close friend about it and was relieved to know that she didn't judge me for it or think I was perverted. I'm still experiencing feelings of sadness and lethargy, but I'm trying to find other activists to focus on. Despite the progress I've made, I still feel very not in control of my life. I don't want to just be "okay." I want to thrive, be a good student, brother, friend. But I still feel somewhat defeated and ashamed that my life has been controlled around this for so long. Does anyone have any advice?

@MateoSpice I'm really glad that you've decided to turn your life arround and also you should know that I myself struggle with this addiction. So the advice that I give to you may or may not help you but I do know of a self help book called Breaking the. cycle. It's a book about sex addiction and maybe it will be helpfull to you. Best of luck! :)
