Recovering from sex addiction
Hi, I feel kinda awkward and weird for openly talking about it for the first time but...
I've been recovering from sex addiction since 2023 (when the realisation hit)
I view life as a blessing, every single bad thing that happened to me is nothing more than a lesson and a mistake I'll never make again.
I was in an abusive relationship when I was around 17 years old. I never thought that this would have any impact on me, since I feel like whatever happened belongs in the past and it's not something that makes me sad to this day.
However, trauma is much more than thoughts. Even tho in my head I don't care about the abuse (it's in the past, why care about something that happened so many years ago?), my body still remembers everything.
I never really cared about sex, but after my abusive relationship I became hypersexual. I made some very questionable choices that I still regret. I started to get addicted, all the attention and love I got from so many people just felt so nice.
Things took a dark turn quickly, since I was so vulnerable some people took advantage of that and I ended up in more complicated and abusive situations. Everything was so intense, it didn't matter if it was the good kind or not. My body, my mind, my soul got exhausted from that horrible situations I put myself in.
I choose to turn things around 2 years ago, when I decided that I'll never have meaningless sex again and I'll never put myself in the place I fought so hard to get out of. I'm still struggling, a lot, but my life has gotten so much better.
I'll always be thankful for choosing to change my bad habits and trying to control my addiction. Even if some days are bad, it's so worth it. You're never alone <3

Thank you so much for sharing!
That cannot have been easy.
I'm sorry you found yourself in situations that weren't nice, and you felt used and numb.
The thrill of pleasure and being wanted can dull the loneliness only for so long before we realise , being with the wrong people makes us lonelier.
I admire you for sharing, it's worth it, even if your story helps one person.
I'm glad you are in a better place and I hope you finally find the love you've always deserved 💖

A pleasure 💜
Thank you so much for being so brave, courageous and bold to talk about this.
I know it must have been so scary and depressing enduring all of that for so long but I must say I am proud of you talking about it openly.
And I want you to always remember you are never alone in this, you got us and we got you too.
