Slowly losing hope

I haven't been here for very long. Maybe 3 to 4 days. But I don't know what to do or say. I've talked to a few listeners, and they are okay, but I don't think they get me very much. They say these addictions are perfectly normal and healthy even, so why do I feel like a failure every time I give in? I get so depressed for days after a relapse, but everyone I confide in tells me to just embrace it. I don't want to. Thats not what I need to hear.

Maybe most of you here won't relate, but I'm a Christian. Sexual activities before marriage are a big no-no, so the option of having 'regular sex' is also out of the question. I can't discuss this with anyone in my family or friend circle for obvious reasons, and I was so happy to connect with a community that could help me anonymously, but all I've gotten so far is ' its completely okay.' So is that it? Is there no remedy? Am I stuck this way forever, since it seems no one can help me effectively get through this once and for all?

So although I am not Christian.......I do understand the beliefs and values.

I also fully understand the issues and needs of all addictions!

Imay not be able to help much in the biblical sense....... But I can probably help with your issues and keep you ethical within the realms of the church?

Hello SharJoey,

I am listening, I too struggle with sexual brokeness. It is not something I embrace, but something I must keep working at with God’s grace. Don’t lose hope my friend, the Lord does and continues to forgive us when we fall short. However, there is much to learn, surrender, and trust if we are ever to make progress. I will keep in contact if you like, we can walk together to win the battles that we both face. Keep hope alive!
