I spend countless hours swiping and checking on these apps and it's wasting my life away. I need help. How do I stop ?

Delete the app, find a new hobby, I know its going to be hard initially, but you survived without it before, youll survive without it again. Being on line all the time takes far too much time up, you begin to lose yourself in the cyber world instead of investing time in yourself, put yourself first, ditch the app and believe in yourself @NeWay

@Hug4you yeah I guess not addicted. But feeling like I need to talk to someone , of the opposite gender in my case, in order to feel fulfilled. Deleting the app I don't gets rid of the root cause. Maybe even if the app leads to a relationship then I would be able to delete it after? Sort of a catch 22, or is this just my addicted mind trying to convince me to download the apps again?

Yeah, I understand the catch 22 situation, and I guess you have probably identified 2 root causes just by talking in this tread, the first being, are you looking for a romantic relationship? Or are you seeking companionship? Or maybe friendship, something to fill that loneliness void most of us probably share within our lives. I suppose you have to ask yourself this question, do you want to find this in real life, or cyber life? Personally Id opt for real over cyber any day, I find it far more enjoyable learning from knew acquaintances face to face, as they are unable to hide from behind a keyboard. Others maybe share different views. My view, its healthy to be addicted to life than technology:) @NeWay

@Hug4you I want both a romantic relationship and companionship . Haven't found either in real life. I hope I do now that I've deleted the dating apps .

@Hug4you I downloaded Tinder again and then felt like sh*t for using it, then deleted it again

Have you tried a community group? An activity which takes you away from the cyber world, one which has committed you to attend each week, something of interest to you which will lead to enjoyment. You will most likely see the same group of new people each week, this will help you establish new positive relationships with prospects of a new friendship@NeWay

@NeWay

Perhaps, just delete the app and goto your local grocery store? jk.

I've been there and I have to agree with you. It's pointless and most have no good intentions. I wish I had better advise but I do not. Delete is first and see what happens! good luck
