@Kate

I totally agree!! I know for me I was dealing with ADHD since I was little and everyone just thought I would grow out of it and so when someone finally brought it up to me that it was possible, I didn't want to admit to myself that I could possibly have anything because the main symtom I knew about when my brother was diagnosed at an early age was the hyperactivity. And so for a few years I was just trying to handle it before I finally accepted it and asked for help managing the symptoms. And even though now that I am being treated and I have my coping skills built up and I know how to deal with the symptoms for the most part, I still have days where I can't seem to stay on task. For example the constant struggle of getting motivated to do the things that I don't need to be spending time that day focusing on.

I think another barrier for me is just the fact that people, especially those with ADD/ADHD, and I will admit myself most days, when I am motivated, I am motivated. But if I don't want to do something I will stare at a screen for hours and look at the clock and everything will be past due. And then there are days that I spend hours writing a new story or writing out new forum posts and end up looking at the clock later panicked because I still have assignments due.
