This gets me every time
Hi:
I have a regular job and my colleagues all know that I am an autie/aspie right? Anyway, several of my colleagues are really close and I am trying to learn not to hide behind my desk or in my office all the time or avoid people. Of those few times that I have reached out to a few colleagues who go by "Office besties" I have attempted to join in. They have had to turn me away and tell me that they have some personal items to talk about. I end up in tears every time they turn me down.

It's basically tribal behaviour, imo. You don't belong to their tribe, they won't let you in.
They are basically slaves to their animal natures. Not that that is any excuse, you understand, just my opinion on why the situation is unlikely to change. .

However, I thought of something else, usually, these people who are part of these tribes do appear to accept me at one point. Then someone else comes along and I get dumped, excluded, ignored etc. I have realize that these kinds of people are just plain flakey. Sad to say, I saw something like this when I was as a kid. I would get invited to play with someone and then another person would come along.
This one time,I was invited to hang out with a girl in my neighborhood and we were having treats together. Then another boy invited her to play. So she ran off with him leaving me behind while grabbing a box of oreos
Me: Hey where are you going?
Her: I am playing with this boy now

That does sound upsetting.
When I said, read 'tribe' i meant that when she was talking about her group, she could have said her tribe.
