This gets me every time
Hi:
I have a regular job and my colleagues all know that I am an autie/aspie right? Anyway, several of my colleagues are really close and I am trying to learn not to hide behind my desk or in my office all the time or avoid people. Of those few times that I have reached out to a few colleagues who go by "Office besties" I have attempted to join in. They have had to turn me away and tell me that they have some personal items to talk about. I end up in tears every time they turn me down.

@DavidEss a friend of mine who works in a different department thinks they are doing it on purpose. She thinks that they are mad that they can shape me to fit their mold

It's basically tribal behaviour, imo. You don't belong to their tribe, they won't let you in.
They are basically slaves to their animal natures. Not that that is any excuse, you understand, just my opinion on why the situation is unlikely to change. .
