self diagnosed ADHD??
Hi, I haven’t gotten diagnosed by a professional for ADHD yet. I was talking to my friend who has it and she thinks I have it so I did a little research. The things they listed sounded like me because I struggle with doing school work. It’s embarrassing but I am on academic probation in college for it. I dropped multiple courses on impulse and because I just didn’t or had the patient to deal with a class I didn’t find interesting. I’ve always been impulse and I procrastinate whenever I get. Even when I had an important exam or paper I had to write, I would put it off till the last minute or I would just not do it. Instead I would lose myself in looking up random things like MCAT resources (bc I plan on applying to medical school) or medical school even though it’s 3-4 years down the line. I want to do my assignments but idk why I just can’t get myself to. I would look things up that has to do with the assignment but after a while I’d just give up on it and go back to watching youtube or scrolling through tiktok. And when I talk to someone or am in a conversation with people, I tend to daydream and just zone out everything around me and even when spoken to, I can’t seem to focus sometimes. And when it’s my turn to talk, I would lose focus and just start thinking about whatever and would take a while to give a response back. Ever since talking to my friends, I’ve paid more attention to what I do and I feel like I might have ADHD.
I feel like I have ADHD tooo. But I can't afford a therapist to 😅😅😅😅. Do now I treat myself like I have it and life seems to be looking up. I have this app brilli. It helps me since I have no desire to start anything even when I have papers coming up. Sometimes I can't even get out of bed. Apparently depression soon follows with untreated ADHD. So for now I look for adhd communities and find ways to make it through till I can afford a therapist. Also there are many conditions that present similarly so I join a number of communities that I relate tooo. Just not feeling alone helps me get through many days.
