ADHD and limerence advice?

So I've been open about my experiences with limerence here before, and decided I would try to work through things with this person and push through it. I have told them about it, and that I only wanna be friends, and also to tell me if I overstep or I'm too much

I'm trusting them to tell me that, and they said themselves "they're like a dog", in that it's gonna be hard to push em away lol

What I've seen is that the best course of action is to prioritize myself and take things slowly. Now, ADHD is kinda the "I struggle to take care of myself and manage my emotions" disorder, but that is something I'm working on. Getting into therapy in a week and probably gonna get some meds too, it'll help a lot I'm sure

My problem is taking things slowly. I've had to take things slowly, mostly because of my circumstances and my anxiety and depression and such, but I'm also struggling with the concept of taking things slowly with friends. I've had a lotta friendships that were kinda rushed and fleeting, because I opened up a bit too fast and then didn't really interact much afterwards

I guess what I'm asking for is a bit of advice on how to take things slowly? The person I have limerence for, I feel like I have kinda rushed things, but I haven't done what I usually do, and over share a lot about myself, only really bringing up deeper topics like my abusive father or things like that when they bring similar things up. We might be hanging out sooner or later, it really depends on when they're busy or not, I'm not trying to push them too much

Is this okay? I hope it doesn't come across as rushing things, but we have kinda known each other for a month at this point and haven't properly met in person

I personally wouldn't bring up something so private to someone I hadn't met yet and I rarely share such personal things with friends.

Because ultimately most people are simply not equipped to handle them.

I save personal things for family and one close friend, who I've known for years and who has proven I can trust her.

It's important to resist the urge to think everyone deserves to know everything about us, they don't 💙
