I'm sorry that you are struggling.

Regulating out emotions is vital.

It might help you to keep a journal for a week , identifying what triggers you and when you learn this, you'll be able to put some coping strategies in place 🩷

This can be difficult to navigate. As a fellow ADHD who was diagnosed a few months ago. Recognising the emotions and current state you are in at the present time and surrendering to it is a great first step! Then taking a moment to decide what the best next step is for you. Sometimes it can exercise, sometimes it can be to relax on the couch for 3 hours and watch tv. Listening to what your body and mind needs and not fighting it is a skill that will take time. When getting things done, that may feel impossible sometimes, a simple trick I like to use is to reward myself with everything before I start it (for example, I can go and draw if I just start this task for two minutes, which usually ends up fishing it as starting is the hardest part. Or give someone a list that they can ask of me, as doing things for other people feels easier than doing it for myself. There’s many different tools out there and ways. Good luck with it all!!!

Hi @colorfulSea5304! When I feel unmotivated and glued to the couch knowing I need to get stuff done, I also text a friend! She's so good at getting me up and moving, and she encourages me to do "Time Chores" with her. It's like body doubling, but in our own respective homes. We set a timer for 5 minutes, she gives me a task, and I go do it. It's a great strategy!

It can actually make it fun, and in the right mindset I’m sure you can get more stuff done in 5 minutes that other people can probably get done in 2 hours 😂 that can be me anyways
