Frustrated
My kiddo has ADHD, Anxiety, sensory challenges, Autism Spectrum Behaviors with a diagnosis of that.
I have been expressing to his school my concerns for increased anxiety to the appropriate school resources. Today his teacher was absent and I just knew today was going to be the day he melted down. I called the school to make them aware so they could check in with him. Well that message was never delivered. I was called in to take him home as no one has been successful in desculating him. I then state I would like to discuss steps to put into place to prevent this. I am refused any conversations. Finally told to call for his IEP meeting so we can reevaluate his IEP.
@Starbrite970 aw that sounds really frustrating, wish schools were more understanding and kind :(
Hope the meeting goes well <3
Hi, @Starbrite970 💙
I understand how you feel and I am sorry that there is not much help that's being offered in your child's school. I can relate to the struggles of having a child with special needs as I have two nephews of whom I am the legal guardian; the older one who is 9 suffers from ADHD and anger management issues and the younger one is ausome: he is on the autism spectrum and at 7 still hasn't spoken any word.
I feel very sad about your child's situation and how the people in his school didn't offer any assistance in the matter. I know how difficult it is that such situations make you feel like you have to beg for help. I understand that it can be very frustrating for a mom to see your child's needs ignored in what would've been a partner institution :( I am sorry that the school somewhat failed you in this by refusing necessary conversations with you :(
But beneath all these things, I want you to know how proud I am of you, how we all are very proud of mommies like you who stand up for their ausome children whatever it takes. There is a specific kind of magic about parents who were given the gift of having an ausome child. Know that you are a rare person and that you and your child are lucky to have each other. Your strength of spirit and courage to face the life of a parent with an ausome child is very powerful. I hope there can only be no way but up for you from this experience moving forward.
