How do I know?
How do I know for sure I have ADHD? How do I know it isn't just me being lazy or finding excuses?
What are the details sign of a person that really have ADHD?
Can someone let me know?
What has led you to think maybe you do have ADHD? It doesn't have to be viewed in a negative way, if you can find your strengths and try harness it. There are many websites that can give you an insight.
One fairly reliable website I've found https://www.clinical-partners.co.uk/for-adults/adult-adhd-add/test-for-adhd
There is also information about next steps and other resources which may help for next steps

Vivian, you are not lazy!! I have ADHD, so I can help if you need!
okay so one thing is: you are for sure not lazy!
here is an article about it and finding what lies behind it and why its something else than laziness. (no diagnosis but what it is instead of laziness, like struggles with executive function)
and then the best would be of course to get a professional, because they are the only ones to diagnose you
but theres circumstances where its of course not possible
for me i also struggled to find out where my lack of motivation came from, was it depression or was it adhd? is there maybe something else?
there it helped me to know that i had the signs since im a child, especially my trouble with concentration.
you could also look into websites and see what the diagnosis criteria for adhd are! that helped me immensely. i also did the tests in the beginning. ill just link some websites that look like the ones that helped me 3 years ago, but they are the same ones that you would get when you google for it.
https://www.cdc.gov/adhd/diagnosis/index.html
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/attention-deficit-hyperactivity-disorder-adhd/diagnosis/
https://add.org/adhd-dsm-5-criteria/
in all of them it kinda gives you the same information, but back then it still helped me to look through them all and read them again and see if there are any new information.
and here are just some tests i found! i think they are different ones than which i used, but they could still be helpful
https://add.org/adhd-test/
https://screening.mhanational.org/screening-tools/adhd/
https://www.additudemag.com/self-test-adhd-symptoms-women-girls/amp/ (this one is specially for women cause we do exhibit soem different symptoms)
and one thing is, even tho after a professional then did diagnose me with it, i still struggled to believe it and felt like an imposter. so its okay if your not yes able to feel sure about having the possibility of adhd, i think that actually quite normal. so take your time with it, research and than if ure able to talk to a professional!
im not sure if this will help you but i was in your position 4 years ago and that is what helped me!
