Medicated adhd
I’m a teenager who started my medication journey around 6 months ago and I’m getting so frustrated that I don’t even know if there’s a positive difference.
On one hand I guess I feel like I can get a task done without fuss but I also feel like I’m TOO focused. I can’t think in class as I can hear everything going around me, I get aggravated at my friends when they touch me or play with my hair (which I normally never minded and even enjoyed). I feel like I’ve just lost my spark in physical touch as a way of showing my love to others and IM SO AGGRAVATED OVER EATING. I’m never hungry anymore but if I don’t eat I get even more moody at everyone and I’m not one to stuggle with food apart from AFRID but I just worry now so much more on “I don’t want it seem like some kid faking an ED and not eating at lunch” but I just can’t find my apatite.
Can someone please tell me how I can find my spark and main reason for joy again and also a way to cope with my uneven eating habits whilst still using medication

Thank you for your honesty.
I'm sorry you don't feel like yourself right now.
You are going through alot.
Could you write down everyday for a week how you feel?
Emotions , thoughts, and perhaps show it to your doctor or a counsellor to find ways that work better for you 💛

Hello, I completely understand this frustration. ADHD medication can be touch and go, some days you can feel the benefits and other days you wonder whether it is worth it. There will always be negative side effects with the medication, if you feel it is dulling you to a significant extent, then I would talk to your health care provider.
Do you take the medication before or after eating? It obviously depends on what your prescriber/ health care professional states, but I find that eating a protein rich meal first really helps this irritation.
Things that can really impact ADHD medication, from my experience is;
• Not having enough carbs and protein with breakfast
Not enough protein with every meal. Having enough protein for breakfast stops the anti-hunger mechanism of the medication.
Not having small meals throughout the day.
Not enough sleep.
Not having some form of regular exercise, even if it’s just a walk. This brought back that spark for me.
It really is a process! Good luck. If you ever need someone to listen to your frustrations, I am here and just pop me a message. I can’t provide any advice.
